I've had a high fever since Thursday, so for three days now. I also have a nasty cough, a runny nose, a sore throat and very little appetite. The fever rose really fast on Thursday. I went to lectures with a slightly sore throat and in the 2-3 hours that I was in Helsinki the fever rose. The trip home felt like it took ages. I was cold all over. By the time that I got home I measured that I had 37,5 degrees C fever. Usually the fever has been around 38,5 degrees C. I've taken medicine to lower the fever when it's been nearing 39 degrees C.

I'm not sure, but it's likely that I have the swine flu. Mom's companion's daughter had it and mom's been sick with something as well, so that's one route where I might've got it. If it's not swine flu, then it's some other nasty flu. And it had only been two weeks since the last time that I was sick. ;_; Well, this flu will pass as well with some proper rest. I've slept through most of the days. Last night I had trouble sleeping because the cough kept me awake. My stomach muscles are sore from the coughing and they hurt when I cough.

I'm supposed to keep a presentation in our Japanese class next week, but I don't know, if I'm going to get well before then. I sent an email to sensei telling her that I've been sick since Thursday. Hopefully I can keep the presentation at some other time, if I'm still sick next week.

Had to fast last night in order to have bloodwork done this AM for my yearly tests. They had to stick me twice, once in the bend of my arm and finally on the side of my arm before they hit paydirt, and I go back Monday for my results. Afterwards I went to Chick-Fil-A for breakfast. Heck, might as well get the good stuff now before the doc tells me to cut it out =p

This weeks been short due to Ida, but I'm really looking forward to the weekend. I'll get to spend time with Bones then.

Tonight was the big birthday maybe-date. CWaCoM was spectacular. Mr. T was absolutely hilarious, and there were a lot of other funny bits too. We both enjoyed it a lot, though I probably didn't make a very good impression when I was convulsing with laughter. On the other hand, the main guy and girl in the movie reminded us of each other, so maybe that'll help something.

I think I messed up at dinner too; she was in the restroom fixing her hair when the check arrived, so I paid for dinner without thinking. Forgot that she was treating me for my birthday. >_< Not only that, but on the way back from the movie, my dad called my cell and when he asked who was with me I called her a friend from work. It's true, but it also might color her perception of what I think of her. Then again, during dinner she said I was her "nice friend", so I guess that evens us out.

Unfortunately we were having such a good time, I barely managed to tell her I like her. I started to tell her on the way to the movie, but after I said that I was really glad we could hang out beyond work, the conversation somehow drifted somewhere else. Didn't get back to it until we'd gotten back to where we left her car (she got lost on the way to the restaurant, so I found her and picked her up). I walked her the two or three feet to her car and struggled to get something out. I said something like "I had a really great time" and "I like hanging out with you", til I blurted out "I like you." She pretty much just agreed with all of them, so I don't know how serious she was when she said "I like you too."

Still got the meteor shower next wee to try and get it across clearer, but her text made it sound like it might be a group dealie, so we'll see how it turns out. I've been texting with another friend of mine about it, and he's suggesting I get her flowers; anyone agree with him, or would that be creepy?

I'd like to tell you about an awesome idea that I had a couple of days ago about sticking photos under the edge of this wooden plank, which is on the wall separating my upper and lower rooms from each other (or maybe my upper room would be better described as a loft (parvi)). Anyway, I can stick photos there and they're level with my eyes when I'm sitting on the computer, and I can see them easily from the computer, if I look up or towards my right side.

I figured that I can easily change what photos I have there. Earlier today I put some childhood photos there that I picked from the stacks of photos that we got from my maternal grandparents' home. Some of them are what mom had sent to my grandparents and some are what grandma has taken of us. Grandma took good photographs. She improved photos with simple photo manipulations before people had heard of Photoshop, or even computers. Back in the day you could paint on the photos or negatives (I'm not sure which), if you wanted to improve the photos somehow. She had good eye for photographs and we have a lot of photos from that side of the family from the fifties and onward.

I think that I'm under ten years old in all the photos that I chose. There's also photos of my siblings, parents and grandparents and one photo of me and my photographer friend from when we were kids.

Funny how I never thought of sticking photos under the edge of that plank until now. I've been living in this room for over ten years and my computer has been here for 6-7 years. You just become blind to things that you see daily.

Finished reading The Half-Blood Prince last night. I liked this one a lot. I still think #3 is my favorite, mainly 'cuz I loved Sirius in it. One more to go!

Should have a review copy of DragonBall: Raging Blast (PS3) waiting for me at home today (guy said yesterday he'd have it out to me "for tomorrow"... so... *shrugs*). DragonBall Z: Attack of the Saiyans (DS) also comes out today, but it seems like I'll just be picking that up on my own. That's fine; I'll pay for the $30 game instead of the $60 game. Lots of writing ahead of me!

Cashed in some credit card reward points for a $25 Best Buy gift card that I'm still waiting on. Will be going toward Lego Rock Band and/or the DBZ DS game. Hoping it arrives today so I can go take care of everything in one fell swoop.

No interest in Modern Warfare 2. I got World at War free with my video card... installed it, started the game (single-player campaign), died, and confirmed that I have zero interest in these games.

I was really slow in getting the podcast edited this weekend, but I had it all finished for yesterday evening... and then totally spaced out. The woman and I went out to dinner and then just crashed with Netflix streaming on the PS3. Watched the second episode of the original Star Trek TV series ("Charlie X")... and... it was pretty abysmal. In a hilarious way. Sorta. Also watched two episodes from the sixth season of Penn & Teller's Bullshit!, which were excellent. I finally stumbled upon some Super Mario Bros. Super Show episodes and randomly started one. I was hysterical at several points. The gist of the cartoon plot was that Bowser was racing down a river on a boat against Mark Twain... Mario & Luigi were in disguise playing cards against Troopas and a Goomba... Toad was dressed up as an Italian waiter with a painted-on mustache... and he made squeaky noises when he fell... I couldn't take it...

Some terrible site lifted one of my entire features/articles. Hilarity ensues.

For the, like, 3 of you who aren't on Facebook, here's a post with some pictures from the weekend's film shoot. I directed, with nopictures as Director of Photography, and starring alphazen, Grey Garrett, and Rebecca Roberts. It was a stressful and intense but ultimately (IMO) successful shoot. I had some hiccups with compatibility with the footage (had to buy a fucking $80 codec), but as soon as I was able to look at it, I immediately called both Nate and Grey to tell them how happy I was (I didn't call Rebecca because I don't have her phone number, didn't call Rick because...well, I guess I don't really have an excuse for not calling him...eat a dick, Rick!)

This is a small subset of all the pictures that were taken, and I've written some comments about the pictures, in lieu of making an actual detailed post about the shoot.

Cast and crew photo. I think it was Rebecca's idea for everyone to grab a prop, which was fucking awesome. Too bad the edges got dark like they did, but it's still a great picture. Tom's prop would be a lot cooler if you could see that there's actually an arrow sticking out of it.

Looks like she'll arrive right on our doorstep at around midnight tonight. Wind and rain already picking up here, and as much as I wanted to go down to the beach and see the waves, I didn't.

Pulled the grill and the smoker into the garage this afternoon just to be on the safe side.

We closed the school today and cancelled the night classes as well. I had to go in this morning to cover the office equipment in case of leaks and such and our director came in to do her weekly report. I also had to make sure payroll was put in because TS or not, I want paid! =p

We're shut down for day classes tomorrow as well, but depending on the weather, we may go ahead and have night classes. Not sure if I'll have to go in tomorrow afternoon or not.

Bones work was planned as normal, so he'll be driving home in some of the worst of it tonight.

ETA: Ten PM mandatory cerfew for the county tonight, so Bones is getting off work early. Lights have started flickering now. If you want to follow along, watch the weather channel, we're the Orange Beach, AL feed.
